GLENLIVET MALT SCOTCH WHISKY 12YO
One of the most famous malts in the world. Glenlivet 12yo has a soft smooth balance of sweet summer fruits and the floral notes of spring flowers.
Glenmorangie Malt Scotch Whisky 12Yo 43% Vol 70CL
This is the 12 year old, Sherry cask finished expression from Glenmorangie, dubbed The Lasanta. It first matures in bourbon casks before being moved over to Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks for a finishing period. Plenty rich and creamy with dark chocolate, dried fruit and fresh honey.
Loch Lomond 10 Single Malt
Loch Lomond Signature is a delux blend matured luxuriously slowly before being married and conditioned in their 100 barrel cask Solera. The Solera system combines Olorosso Sherry casks, American Oak cask which have been recharrred to create an intensity and smoothness of character. It has all the aroma of a fine wine, with a subtle hint of sherry to compliment the fruity notes. It’s malt galore on the taste buds, a touch of warming spices lifting the flavour. The fruity hint appears next to finish, with a touch of sweetness and a smoky character that merely teases.
Ardbeg Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Year Old 46%
Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance.
Glen Scotia 10 Year Old 40% ABV
Aged 10 Years. Classic Campbeltown Malt. Matured in First Fill Bourbon Barrels.Campbeltown Glen Scotia 10 year old is a perfect example of the distillery character and its coastal location. Matured in 100% first fill bourbon barrels, on the nose there is fresh sea spray along with sliced apple, lemon zest and toasted oak. The mouthfeel is like smooth syrup, on the palate there is melted brown sugar, orange marmalade and tangy pineapple with creamy oak vanilla. A wonderfully long finish with gentle ground ginger and cinnamon spiciness. A true taste of Campbelltown.
The Singleton 12 Year Old 40% 70cl
Dufftown distillery was built in the late 1800's. For most of its history, it has been used in Bell's blended whisky, but some does get released as single malt, including this bottling. A light, easy going malt. This 12yo is a stunning liquid not be confused with The Singleton (no age statement)
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – Nutty and fruity aromas. Adding water brings out more sweet, syrupy notes.
Palate – Crunchy nut notes, rich notes, blackcurrant, brown sugar and espresso coffee.
Tullibardine 18 Year Old 43% 70cl
The 18yo expression from Tullibardine's core range, composed of whisky matured in both first fill bourbon and sherry casks.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – Characteristic Tullibardine bourbon notes of vanilla, caramel, cream soda, sweet nectar, and oak intertwine with layers of dried fruit and warming spice.
Palate – Balancing the indulgent nose, there’s more spices to be found of nutmeg, cinnamon and candied ginger cushioned with a hint of brown sugar.
Finish – Spice on the palate mellows, the finish is smooth and buttery
Tulliabardine 2008 The Murray Triple Port 46% 70cl
The 12th expression from the Tullibardine Marquess Collection has been finished in three types of port cask: white, ruby and tawny.
Official Tasting Notes
The nose delivers tart raspberries and succulent black fruits, perfectly balanced with a subtle hint of baked apples and creme caramel from the White Port. The Tawny Port, aged in oak barrels bring layers of spiced oak, cloves and cinnamon, which creates a spicy and warming finish.
Tullibardine Sovereign 43% 70cl
Tullibardine’s Signature Single Malt has been matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon Barrels. The Sovereign is beautifully golden with its floral, sweet barley notes and subtle hints of vanilla. On the finish there is fudge, pear drops and soft spice.
Springbank 1999 24 Year Old Westie Sponge 3 54.5% 70cl
A single cask bottling of Springbank single malt. It was distilled at the Campbeltown distillery in 1999, and laid to mature in a first fill sherry butt for 24 years. It has been bottled by the Decadent Drinks for their Westie Sponge series, celebrating west coast highlands and islands distilleries. Each bottle has been hand-blown, making an already special bottling more individual.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose – some kind of tarred leather, smoked walnuts, aged pipe tobacco and dried dark fruits. Then the freshness and salinity hits, loads of classical Springbank character balanced by nutty, drying and earthy old sherry. In time there’s even more familiar waxiness and soft, peppery peat smoke in the background. Stunning whisky.
Palate – immediately an amazing texture and mouthfeel – very waxy, full of natural tar extracts, mineral oil, sandalwood, cured meats, candied citrus peels and walnut wine. Getting even more coastal and waxy with time, adding in some smoked olive oil, salted almonds and peat that seems to subdivide into eucalyptus and herbal cough syrup.
Finish – very long, getting medicinal and umami at the same time now, on squid ink, ointments, natural tar liqueur, resinous fir wood and camphor. A gloriously fresh and coastal aftertaste.
Gin Mg – London Dry Gin 70cl, 40%
A magnificent London Dry Gin from Spanish company Gin MG, formerly specialists in whiskey and brandy but who turned their attention to gin in 1940. While it may lack a bit of subtlety, its oily juniper and fresh lemon notes make it well worth a try.
