Loch Lomond Open Special Edition 2024 Chardonnay Finish 46% 70cl
A Loch Lomond single malt produced with their golf ambassador, Colin Montgomerie, for the the 152nd Open at Royal Troon. The spirit was matured in American Oak casks and finished in Chardonnay wine casks.

Nose – Lemon citrus, green apple, pear, vanilla
Palate – Vibrant orchard fruit, fresh peach and pear, blossom honey and toasted oak.
Finish – Medium length with cinnamon spice and soft smoke
Loch Lomond Signature Blended Whisky 40% Vol 70Cl
Loch Lomond Signature is a delux blend matured luxuriously slowly before being married and conditioned in their 100 barrel cask Solera. The Solera system combines Olorosso Sherry casks, American Oak cask which have been recharrred to create an intensity and smoothness of character. It has all the aroma of a fine wine, with a subtle hint of sherry to compliment the fruity notes. It’s malt galore on the taste buds, a touch of warming spices lifting the flavour. The fruity hint appears next to finish, with a touch of sweetness and a smoky character that merely teases.

Taste: the palate incredibly balanced, rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. Smoke always present, soft smoke persistent.

COUNTRY: Scotland.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: aged in ex-bourbon without any influence of a barrel of sherry. It is either filtered cold, no additional colorants and no age statement.

An exciting new age statement expression from Macallan that’s matured in a combination of American and European Sherry oak for a minimum of 12 years. Here, the proportion of American oak ex-Sherry casks is higher than in the 12 Year Old Sherry Oak, but no ex-bourbon casks are used as they are in the 12 Year Old Fine Oak release.

This 15-year-old expression from The Macallan distillery is part of the Double Cask range, which uses both European and American oak casks, seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry. The Whisky Mastery Team selects a balance of spirit from both types of cask to create a whisky with a sweet, warm character. Bottled at 43% abv, this expression has a golden butterscotch colour which comes solely from the casks with no artificial colouring added.

It’s full of all those hallmark dried fruit and marmalade notes we’ve come to know and love from a sherried Macallan.
